The face of Riot Hypercarry

Jinx has consistently been in the meta multiple times per season every year. When you think of a hypercarry ADC you think of her. If you want to learn how to play her so well your enemies type "Is that Jinx from hit Netflix TV Show Arcane?" then this guide is for you.

Super Mega Death Rocket!

The whole champion is made of 2 parts: lots of Attack Speed and long range AoE damage.

Your passive gives you Attack Speed and Movement Speed after getting an elimination. Your Q is a toggle between your guns. You can switch between a minigun that stacks Attack Speed or a rocket launcher that gives extra range and AoE damage on your basic attacks. W throws a skillshot that deals damage and slows the first target hit. E lays down 3 traps which Root and Knock Down any champions that try to walk through them. And your Ultimate ability throws a rocket with global range that deals a lot of AoE damage based on travel time and the target's missing HP %.

Tips & Tricks

  • Your Q minigun has a max of 3 stacks. If you swap to the rocket launcher you will keep those stacks for a single auto attack before theyre removed.
  • W cast time scales with your Attack Speed. Try to use it when they are about to leave your auto attack range or CC'd so you can maximize the time you spend auto attacking.
  • You can cast W and E at the same time which can sometimes guarantee you root whoever you hit with W.
  • Your E applies the Knock Down effect. This means it will cancel ANY movement abilities to pull them down and root them at the trap's location. Obviously this doesn't apply to Unstoppable targets.
  • Pay a lot of attention to the map, your ult has global range so it's very easy to snowball off random kills from across the map.
  • If the enemy puts down the Rift Herald your passive will actually proc off it so you can use it to get a good fight.

Teamfighting tips

Your utmost priority is always to stay alive. Wait out important cooldowns and wait for the right time to enter fights. After this, your main priority is to get a single reset of your passive. You don;t even need a kill, just an elimination. Your ultimate can be a great tool for this, dealing damage to the entire team so you can get at least an assist on just 1 person to then go ham.

Since you really need to proc your passive it's good to look at other ways of getting it; towers, heralds, dragons, baron and eliminations all give her a passive proc. Not to mention it stacks so getting the first one off an objective is a great way to get a good or winning fight.

Always remember to stay at a safe distance and play front to back. Hit whatever is closest to you and do not tunnel vision in fights. You're really easy to kill so keep your distance and don't try to dive in for a kill even if it gives you a passive reset.

However, the more experienced players might be able to pull that maneuver off ONLY IF they know they can escape after getting it, so don't discard it if you see the angle.
